The CUHK BusinessSchool, a leading business school and a pioneer in business education in HongKong, now seeks to appoint a high calibre candidate to the position ofAdministrative Director (Student Experience and Development).

Since its establishmentin Hong Kong in 1963, the CUHK Business School has gained world recognition ofnurturing business leaders with immense contributions in Asia Pacific.

TheSchool has been offering a comprehensive range of undergraduate andpostgraduate programmes (MBA, MSc, EMBA, MPhil, PhD) with over 4,600 students, aswell as executive education.

It has one of the most extensive alumni network inthe region, with over 34,000 alumni around the world.

Among all the master’sprogrammes offered by the School, the full-time MBA is a highly selectiveprogramme, with an intake of around 80 students per year, and is rankedglobally.

The students are an internationally diverse group of highly motivatedprofessionals. The part-time MBA programme caters to the needs of workingprofessionals in Hong Kong and southern part of China and their needs arecentred on leadership development.

On top of these two programmes, in thelast couple of years, various departments / schools of the Faculty have launchedspecialised Masters Programmes, including the Master of Science in Management(MiM) programme.

With a variety of background and academic interest, thesestudents often have high expectations on learning experience and developmentduring their journey of studies.

Reporting to the Director of MBA Programmes and Associate Dean (GraduateProgrammes), the Administrative Director (Student Experience and Development)is expected to supervise a specialised team in the development and delivery ofprogramme excellence, with the goal of supporting all MBA and MiM programmes insurpassing their expectations and achieving high student satisfaction, to bemeasured by year-

end survey and global ranking exercises, and to :

  • oversee administrationof academic content process and delivery, including scheduling, planning anddelivering of face-to-
  • face, online, as well as workshops of MBA and MiMprogrammes;
  • oversee / lead allco-curricular activities, including exchanges, ceremonial events,company / alumni talks, study trips and other such projects as assigned;
  • assist the AssociateDean (Graduate Programmes) to develop curriculum plan;
  • establish and executeprogramme policies and serve as secretary for the programme-related committeesand boards;
  • work closely with theMarketing and Recruitment Team in the screening and selection of candidates,and the development and management of admission processes;
  • collaborate withGraduate Career Management Team on development and management of studentssocieties, business competitions, student-
  • led conferences, business practicums,career treks, etc.;
  • oversee preparation ofbudgets and annual reports.
  • The ideal candidateshould have the following qualifications, skills and attributes :

  • a Master’s degree,preferably an MBA;
  • a minimum of twelveyears’ post-degree work experience, including experience in operation andprogramme management, admission / recruitment in tertiary education sector;
  • ability to listen andcommunicate effectively, and to maintain positive rapport with a diverse groupof high-performing students, and to support them in their learning journey;
  • excellentinterpersonal and verbal communication skills to interact and form lastingrelationships with students, alumni and senior business leaders;
  • excellent written andverbal communication in English; good command of Chinese (in Cantonese and / orPutonghua) would be an advantage.
  • Appointment willnormally be made on contract basis for two years initially commencing as soonas possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
