As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC’s regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues.

The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change.

It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Regulatory Compliance Manager, Global Banking Markets .

Principal responsibilities

  • Help manage implementation of global cross product approaches for Regulatory Compliance initiatives.
  • Support implementation of Global Banking and Markets business initiatives & policies such as Conduct Risk, or Electronic Communications.
  • Working with the heads of the Regulatory Compliance department help support the strategic approach for structure and governance.
  • Drive consistent Best Practice globally for Regulatory Compliance activities.
  • Represent Global Banking and Markets Regulatory Compliance on Regulatory Conduct Transformation Project and Target Operating Model implementation as required.
  • Implementation of Global Regulatory Compliance initiatives for Global Banking and Markets regulatory Compliance.
  • Be the regulatory Compliance Lead or Subject Matter Expert on major transformation initiatives within Global Banking and Markets Regulatory Compliance as required.
  • Develop a network of Compliance officers who will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Compliance initiatives.
  • Requirements

  • An understanding of the global financial services industry preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of Global Banking and Market products.
  • Experience of the HSBC Group, its culture, policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, example, strong written and oral communication skills demonstrated by a history of writing reports and making oral presentations to senior staff either within the HSBC Group or similar.
  • Experience of managing small projects and involvement in major change initiatives.
  • Ambition to enhance compliance knowledge and skills in a rapidly changing and dynamic Markets environment.
  • Sound judgment.
