The Finance Office is one of the crucial administrative functions providing best-practice financial management services to support the University’s mission in teaching, research and social-
economic development of Hong Kong.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Associate Director of Finance is a key position in the University’s finance function.
This requires the position holder to be a hands-on seasoned finance professional with strong technical, managerial and inter-
personal skills, and be able to work very effectively with all colleagues across the whole University.
The appointee is expected to contribute to the development of high quality financial support services and adoption of best practice processes and support efficiency and value for money initiatives.
Initial responsibilities will include taking up a key role in the development of management accounting and financial business planning functions of the University, leading new projects on cost allocation and re-
engineering of budget processess; championing and disseminating best practice in management accounting, production and presentation of financial information.

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree and a professional qualification in accounting. He / She should have at least 15 years of relevant work experience, comprising strong hands-
on technical and management experience, with a sound track record in cost accounting, management accounting, business planning and project management.
Excellent and demonstrable leadership, management, technical, analytical, decision-making, communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills are required.
Proficiency in both English and Chinese is desirable. Relevant working experience in Hong Kong will be a definite advantage.
Terms of Appointment
Appointment to the position will be on a three-year fixed-term contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical, dental benefits and housing where applicable will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon completion of contract.
